Our Surrounding Area

For many, the Silver Valley Sun Club provides a central base for day excursions to nearby attractions such as Calico Ghost Town, The Calico Early Man Site and Afton Canyon.

Historic Route 66 comes right through Newberry Springs and offers much for the nostalgia buff, with its old motels and the renowned Bagdad Cafe. In the spring and fall, the club schedules occasional local history lectures along with guided desert hikes for those who wish to get more of a flavor of the desert life of our past and present.

Another notable attraction is the over 350 days of sunshine a year. At an elevation of 1800 ft., the dry desert heat of summer days is always followed by cool, star filled nights. Many snowbirds escape their colder climates to enjoy our mild winters.
